Trame Scene 2 – Tribute to experimental animation cinema

Impressed by the film etching techniques of artists such as Norman McLaren and freelance artist Steven Woloshen, we dedicate an entire painting to this manual craft technique.

The interface allows the viewer to experience burning on giant virtual photograms, by sliding his finger on the touch screen of their phone. By scratching the dark layer of the film, we unveil the work of these two avant-garde creators.

Works used

Evelyn Lambart et Norman McLaren – Caprice en couleurs (1949)
Norman McLaren – Blinkity Blank (1955)
Pierre Hébert – Souvenirs de guerre (1982)
Michèle Cournoyer – Une artiste (1994)
Steven Woloshen – The Curse of the Voodoo Child (2005)
Steven Woloshen – Zero Visibility (2008)
